Class Offerings
01
Basics of Wound Care
In this introductory wound care course, students are guided through a high-level overview of the core concepts in wound care. The course covers the fundamental skills required to assess wounds, select appropriate treatments, and support optimal healing. By introducing the essential building blocks of wound care, it ensures clinicians develop a strong foundation before progressing to more advanced topics.
03
Not Just A Bandaid
Each wound is unique and cannot be treated with a one-size-fits-all approach. Providers will learn how to assess wounds on a case-by-case basis and apply a structured framework to determine which dressings promote healing for each wound type.
05
Taking the Pressure Off
Diabetic foot ulcers affect an estimated 25% of people with diabetes during their lifetime, with 10–25% of these cases progressing to lower-limb amputation. Alarmingly, nearly half of patients who undergo a lower-limb amputation die within five years, underscoring the critical importance of early identification and effective management.
This course equips clinicians with practical knowledge and tools to recognize risk factors, intervene early, and support long-term prevention.
02
Taking the Pressure Off
Empowering bedside caregivers with a comprehensive refresher on how proper patient positioning and offloading help reduce the risk of pressure-related wounds.
04
NPWT - Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
This in-depth review of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) focuses on proper application, troubleshooting, and evidence-based use. Learners will develop the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to confidently and effectively apply NPWT in clinical practice.
06
Wound Care Vascular Flow
This course explores the fundamentals of lower extremity vascular disease, helping clinicians understand how arterial and venous ulcers develop, how they differ in presentation, and why accurate identification and appropriate workup are essential for effective care.
